What is the best Water Bottle with Filter for Survival?

With so many to choose from, what portable water filter is best for survival

Every Prepper knows the importance given to the acquisition of water supplies and how necessary it is to ensure you have ample clean drinkable water to ensure a higher chance of survival.

When the SHTF your water supply is going to be severally compromised.

There are just so many factors that can render the water that comes out of your tap either dangerous to drink or non existent.

Either way, without a good clean source of drinkable water you are stuffed....!

How would you cope if you opened your tap one morning and this came out? Or worse still, if nothing came out.

Just about all UK water supplies are fed from a reservoir that could very easily be contaminated at so many different levels and by so many different sources.

The whole pumping station could go down if there was a simple 'grid down' situation - the result would be dirty undrinkable water at best.

What about having to leave your home in a bug out scenario and being forced to find refuge away from a 'clean' water supply?

All these situations are very possible - which is why is it so important to have a good method of purifying your drinking water.

To be fully prepared for both situations the best compromise is a portable water bottle with filter.

As with all good prepping practice. The thinking behind this method covers all angles of survival in one bit of equipment. The equipment itself can be used for several purposes, thus making it perfect for us preppers.

The water bottle with filter can be used in three specific ways:

  • Use the bottle for simple water collection
  • As a storage bottle.
  • As a standard drinking water bottle
  • As a fully filtered and purified drinking water bottle.

I am using the "Water To Go" filter bottle as a typical example of a very good survival product. This is a water bottle with filter than can be used in all the ways explained above.

I am also using this as an example because I have 100% confidence in the product. I own a couple myself, I use them and have never had anything but success with them - so why not spread the word to all fellow preppers..?

In fact, if you are interested in getting yourself a bottle or two, I have negotiated a special 15% discount price code for readers of the UK Preppers Guide website - see details of discount promo code here.

Why is a water bottle with filter so essential for survival?

  • Do you really want to have to carry gallons of water around?
Of course you don't. Who the hell does..?
We go to great lengths to reduce our pack weight, checking this and that to see where we can save a few ounces.
  • Do you want to carry around some big complicated filtration setup?
Again, no, of course you don't. Far too complicated.  Remember the old preppers phrase, KISS - Keep It Simple, Stupid.
  • Do you want carry extra bottles for collecting you drinking water?
No, no and again no...  One bottle will do the trick here.

When the SHTF and you want to Get Out of Dodge Fast - this has got to be your number 1 choice for instant safe filtered drinking water, and here's a few reasons why:

    • Very lightweight - 50cl bottle = 89 grams  /  75cl bottle = 138 grams.
    • Provides 130 ltrs of clean filtered drinking water, 50cl bottle & 200 ltrs in the 75 cl bottle
    • Filters 99.9% of microbiological contamination and more.
    • Drink from ANY fresh water source. [this means not to be used with sea water]
    • Fully tested and approved
    • Replaceable filters - the new 50cl bottle has a unique timer for filter replacement.

If you want to order this filter bottle, please see my full video review here,
or go straight to their website and use your 15% UK Preppers Guide discount promo code here.

I love this great survival product.
Take a look at my full report which includes my test video of the whole water bottle with filter - I test it thoroughly, I run contaminated, stagnant pond water through it and you see the actual results that I drink....

Prepping Home Defence Plan For UK Preppers

As a UK Prepper you must have a solid Home Defence Plan

Even the most uneducated person can see the sense in having insurance for an unknown situation. Everyone knows how important it is to try and plan for events that could effect your family and your way of life. This type of thinking is universal.

Taken a step further, we invest in more secure locks for our doors and alarm systems, and even CCTV that's piped direct to our mobile phones and alerts us to and signs of an intruder.

man breaking into a house

These measures are becoming more and more popular in the UK today. They are, in fact, just part of an average home owners insurance against an unwanted break in.

These extra measures will help protect your property and help the police to catch the villains who were hoping to pick up a few laptops or a bit of jewelry.

Most of the time they work fine. In fact, when a would be intruder sees a camera or the door is locked, they move on to a less secure house.

They have little to loose by doing this and are definitely not looking for confrontation.

But what happens when Law & Order Disappear?

That is where the similarity between now and a post disaster situation will  stop. The emphasis on looting shops for TVs and the like will very quickly change as people start to get thirsty and hungry.

Supermarkets and shops will very quickly become empty stores with precious little to offer anyone.

And so it will begin. Any home, including yours will be the next viable target for any looter - quite how long after a disaster this actually starts is anyone's guess. But it will happen.

A home defence plan for us UK preppers:

The importance of a good home defence plan is essential, and by defence plan we mean a way to stop any unwanted interest in your home. If a potential looter can get into your home it's already too late.

Do not give them the chance of breaching your outer defences!

An English Mans Home Is His Castle.

Never has there been a truer word spoken! You must prepare to defend you home after SHTF.

    man with catapult
    paintball gun firing in feild
    man wit air rifle

Build An Arsenal Of UK Legal Weapons.

As soon as the SHTF people will change. They will become desperate and unpredictable and dangerous. The chances of them having actual firearms are quite slim here in the UK. But there is, of course that small chance. Whatever happens you must be able to repel any intruder way before they get into your home.

So now is the time to build up a stash of Legal Weapons. Weapons you can actually own in the UK without having a Fire Arm Certificate. There are many different types of legal firearms you can own here in the UK, including a shotgun. But all require a FAC.

Owning weapons that can keep someone at bay are very necessary. It's no good just having a baseball bat tucked up behind the bed. Any weapons you get must be able to keep a potential looter at a distance and discourage them from even considering entering your home.

You are not trying to kill anyone. Just defend your home enough to ensure others keep their distance.

Also remember, people may well be approaching you to offer help and assistance rather than rob and steal from you, not everyone is a bad guy. But desperate times will make even the most calm and passive person a potential raving maniac.

Keeping vigilant and aware of everyone near your home is a high priority - as mean as it may sound at the moment, you have built up your supplies and equipment and skills over the years, do you really want them taken from you in a matter of minutes?

I certainly do not. And I have no intention of letting it happen to me.

    Imagine the scenario.

You are at home with your family and you spot someone loitering around outside.

Worse still, they are 'tooled up', ready and prepared to break into your home.

If all you can do is sit back and wait for them to force their way in, your stuffed!

We cannot blast the crap out of them like our American friends, but with the limited fire power we can legally own here in the UK, there is a far better chance of making them think twice and moving on to a new area, where there are far less prepared people to rob.

Don't let it happen to you - get yourself prepared.
as a UK Prepper you must have a solid home defence plan.

You have a perfectly legal right to buy and own these weapons. The laws says you can - simple as that.
You are doing nothing wrong by owning these 'weapons'.
But don't get caught out - ensure you know all the legalities about carrying and using them first.

    Happy Prepping Folks.

     Prepping For Financial Collapse

stock going downFollowing on from my article on ‘Preppernomics’, I will share with you what steps I took, over a five year period to prepare for a UK economic collapse.

I took a long deep look at what expenses and luxuries drained my monthly pay check the most, and then worked down the list to the smaller outgoings.

What hit me straight away was the actual amount of ‘stuff’ that I was spending my hard earned cash on each month. It was almost like spending for the sake of spending!

The spending had to stop if I was ever to get to that zero expenses level.

My biggest expensive was keeping a roof over my head, and that’s probably the same for you. It was the biggest by far. I had a nice new car and another for my wife..! Two lots of everything being paid out there as well.

I had two kids but only one was living at home [now and then when he felt like it!]man looking at the sea

The number one question was –  could I actually afford my current lifestyle?  Well, the simple answer to that question was a resounding “No”.

I actually became very disgruntled at the situation I had allowed myself to get into.  I had to figure out a method of reducing all my regular monthly expenses. .

I guess your getting the picture now eh…

My outgoings were exceeding my income and as a result I was calling on my credit cards to bail me out.

All of this had to stop. So, in one fail swoop I began my own preppernomics campaign. Over the next five years I have done the following:

    • Sold my 4 bedroom house and moved into a 2 bedroom smaller house. Now even if you have a couple of younger kids that is still doable.  Contrary to popular belief, I have never heard of a child dieing simply because he or she had to share a room with a sibling.
    • I lived in a village that added time and fuel costs to my commute to work – so i relocated to a small town.
    • I sold both cars – and bought a good, low mileage second hand car for cash.
    • We now use car share and the free bus transport whenever one of us needs the main car.
    • Gathered every penny I could, which included selling a lot of household items from the sale of the house. Then paid of as many credit cards as possible. as each one was paid off, it was then sacrificially destroyed. We are now at a point where we have completely stopped using credit cards.
    • I have used the same principle for the 2 loans I had – pay off as soon as possible – the interest alone kills you.   The moral here is Stop Accumulating Debt.
    • Pay off as much debt as possible. You must pay it off. The fewer amounts of bills you to pay when the SHTF, the better prepared your going to be. * Take a look at this excellent book: A Practical Guide On How To Save Money, Spend Less And Live More With A Minimalist Lifestyle
    • We have drastically cut back on the number of meals out. This has been reduced to a maximum of once a month or very special occasions.
    • There have been months where we have not eaten out at all..!
    • The huge expensive of having sky TV was a no brainer – it had to go. The internet offers all the films and entertainment you could ever want and then there’s Free-view as well. all essentially for nothing.
    • Forget your big expensive family holiday – that’s right out. I haven’t had a holiday abroad for five years now and not missed it one bit.
    • No food was waisted at home either. Eat the leftovers the next day. I reckon I have at least one ‘free’ meal per week made from the leftovers. * This is worth checking out: Jamie Oliver – Shop Smart, Cook Clever, Waste Less
    • By sniffing out what’s on in my area I have been able to find free or very low-cost entertainment. Forget expensive gym membership and take family membership at your community center instead.
    • I made a financial spending plan: I called it my essential spend fund and it worked like this. You know that there will be set expense during certain times of the year. The key here is to set a maximum spend and then add a set amount each month and put it into an envelope so that when its time for that item or activity you have the exact amount ready.
    • All unnecessary spend was cut on things like mobile phones, memberships etc.
    • I changed fuel suppliers and telephone packages, all saving me money.
    • I bought in bulk when ever possible. Using the stockpile method.  There are tons of bargains that run for most of the year – sniff them out in your area and only buy when they are cheap.
    • I started my own vegetable patch an have been growing a lot of my own food. It’s not that difficult and you don’t need huge amounts of land. I am now entering into rearing my own chickens and rabbits [although this is still in the research stage]
    • I now repair as much as possible rather than just throwing it away and going out spending money.
    • I have found new ways to reduce fuel bills. Although I live in a town, it’s still possible to go a little tiny bit off grid. Even the simplest thing like collecting rain water for the watering the veg patch. Solar lighting is another simple fuel saver.
    • Stay at home more.  Resist going out too much. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll spend money when your out.
    • I have found other, simple ways to reduce my heating and electricity bills and at the same time prep the house for a disaster situation. Simply hanging a heavy curtain across the main doors will give another level of insulation. Draft excludes will help too. If you ever had to hunker down and ride out a disaster then having one room prepped as the ‘nerve center’ of the house is essential. I have my living room insulated and prepared regardless of the season.
    • Additionally, I can stay warm if there were an electric blackout, fuel shortage or emergency situation.  Prep for this by having a secondary fuel burning and cooking. Good sleeping bags and warm clothing.
    • In essence it just comes down to Prepping before the event. It’s never too late to start. But it is possible to ride out a UK economic collapse but you must start to get ready now.
My way of being prepared for a UK economical collapse has worked for me – but what works for my family may not work for your family.

I was very lucky and had the support of the whole family. They were prepared to sacrifice a lot and understood the long term benefits of the sacrifice.

It was not easy, but I made the plan and we all stuck by it – so was it worth it?

A 100% resounding yes. I am in a position to be able to say my expenses and outgoings are at a minimum, and with that I now have excess funds to spend wisely on my future prepping. My storage of prepping supplies are able to grow because of these extra funds.

But in reality, they were funds I always had – I just made the mistake of spending them unwisely and, in effect, giving them to other people for things I really didn’t need.

    Happy Prepping Folks..

    Steve

How To Survive an UK Economic Collapse

Is it really possible to prepare and survive a UK economic collapse?

    pile of £20 notes

You can get yourself ready and prepared to weather through this economic disaster

    We call it Preppernomics.

I’m not a doom and gloom merchant, but the writings been on the wall for some time now and there’s no sign of it getting better.

But for the purpose of this exercise you have to get somewhat concerned and consider a financial collapse as being a very real threat to the break down of society.

Is the British pound safe? Are the banks you keep your money in safe? Is our financial system foolproof?

Just a few simple questions that should make you think ‘what can I do to prepare for a potential financial collapse’?

So how would a UK Economic Collapse effect you?

sharesYou may be one someone who already lives off grid – if you are, I envy you. The rest of us have to live with the day to day worries that are always based around money. Which is, without a shadow of a doubt, the main problem.

The problem is everyone is to busy trying to make money and working overtime to make more money. Then you put that money in a bank and feel secure – you have become a slave to the whole money making, financial system..

Is all that effort really worth it?

Well, lets face it, is your job secure? What about you house – who’s to tell that your mortgage isn’t about to go up? And prices will rise, that’s a gimme.

However, if you’re already prepping for long term survival, then you already have the preparedness mindset. You are geared up and aware of the possibilities of various disaster scenarios that could easily effect you and your family.

Anything from civil unrest, blackouts and the like, right down to a simple personal SHTF situation like a holiday gone bad. I’m sure you’ve got them covered.

But what is the most likely catastrophic event that could affect your life?

What is that something that will be able to stop you in your tracks and grind the whole country to one big massive halt? In one fail swoop and without claiming millions of lives at the same time?

It is the number one event that most preppers fear – it will only take a matter of minutes to start the ball rolling and once started, it’s almost impossible to stop.

We are talking global economic collapse.

money going down a drainA failure of the financial system, bringing down the entire world as it falls, is a very real possibility as we venture into 2015. A grand scale economic collapse is nearer now than its ever been.

Preppers have all the disaster bases covered and UK economic collapse needs be one of those as well.

Just like all our other prepping it just takes a bit of thought and planning – something us preppers are pretty good at eh….

Brace yourself for a crash course in Preppernomics.

As a prepper, you have already made some pretty interesting and drastic changes to your basic mindset and lifestyle.

You already have the edge over most other people. You know the ones, they just wander around believing the BS that’s fed to them by the media and the politicians.

The ‘sheeple’ as we know them [sheep/people], will be 100% reliant on others to help then survive when the SHTF.

For a prepper, weathering an economic collapse should be far easier than the sheeple, but there are still some quite radical changes that will need to be made to you lifestyle in order to ensure you make it through unscathed.

The key to successful economic survival

What is you financial position right now? If it’s good, then your at an advantage already. But still pay attention to the following basic rules.

If you are already suffering from the recession and the downturn in finances, then pay attention to the following suggestions.

There are some very real indicators to your economic survival. But in reality you will find that you actually need far less and can survive on far less things that actually cost less than you realise!

If a UK economic collapse were to happen, what would be your priorities?

Well, firstly lets have a look at what necessities really are….

     kids on iphones

Is it really necessary for every member of the family to have an smart phone? What sort of money are you paying for that then..?!

Do you need two cars? Do you need the full Sky package? Do you even need Sky at all?

What about the kids – do they really need a separate bedroom!

They are neither a necessity or a priority..

In an economic meltdown your money is useless and will buy you nothing of real value. What is a necessity and your main priority is having the basic essentials to ensure you survive.

    essentials like the following:

Absolutely everything that is above the basic necessities is a to be considered luxury.

So, by using this definition, what luxuries do you have?

Of course, it goes without saying that some of life’s luxuries are much more important than others, but based on your lifestyle you might also consider an awful lot as secondary luxuries rather than actual necessities.

But there are ‘wants’ and ‘needs’, of which a lot of your secondary luxuries are simply ‘wants. You really don’t ‘need’ them. They are just there…

Excluding food and general health items, transportation, your work clothing, a computer and an internet connection are luxury items, but generally need for everyday running of your life.

Some electrical appliances, [not all] also fall in the ‘need’ category, as does your mobile phone. However, you are the only person who can make that decision as to ‘are these luxuries items’ and which others fall into the secondary necessities.

You have to be truly honest and brutal with yourself and go ahead and differentiate between the “wants”,  and even the “I really enjoy having this” and also  “the kids will complain if they hav’nt got one” from your very actual “needs.”

You will definitely have to make some drastic and brutal cuts.
    • What financial things can you change about your lifestyle?
    • What area of your lifestyle can you reduce expenditures?
    • You can absolutely, definitely, positively reduce your bills by hundreds monthly.!!
Right now your saying “I can’t” – that’s what everyone says.

The thing is, most people do not want to give up anything. Why do you think that most people are skint..! The average credit card debt is some £30.000 in the UK.!! That is just insane.

We have got used to a certain level of lifestyle and want to keep it.  For what ever insane reason they go on, day after day, building up debt. It takes a lot of will power to ‘just bite the bullet’ and go without in the short term for the bigger benefits in the long term.

Preppernomics is all about being a brave old soldier and doing what’s right for you and your family.

Nobody really wants to move to a smaller house, or buy an older car, or go without their precious sky sports channel, or say NO to the kids..!

But this is the only way that you can sensibly make any impact and create the lifestyle required to survive an economic mayhem scenario.

Banks get bailed out of debt every day – you wont.

That’s the facts, no one is going to help you. Despite the caring, sharing adverts you see on the TV. You will still get shafted by the banks and other money lending institutes.

The mind numbingly condescending TV adverts belong to the age old loan sharks who only want one thing. More of your money, and by giving them control of it you can then buy more luxuries that you really do not need.

It’s a vicious circle that so many people get into – these are set in a the must have mindset.

Preppernomics means thinking and acting as a prepper, not just one of the sheeple.

    Granted, everyone’s situation is different.

You could very well be locked into a mortgage on a huge house. Where the selling price won’t even cover the balance of what you owe. The same could apply for your car/s.

But always look for financial ways out – there will be other options. You may find that paying to get out of a mortgage may be initially difficult, but long term will enable you to create the freedom you need.

I personally have financial freedom, free from any debt, with no ties or restrictions.prepper in hammock

    Can you say the same?

I know that is quite rare these days, and I am at that point because five years ago I made the decision to reduce my outgoings to the barest minimum possible.

I has not been easy.! In fact, I would go far as to say that most of you could not do it.!

I did it by taking out all the ‘wants’ and all the secondary luxury items that were weighing me down. I could not have done it without the help and backup of my wife either.

So, if you really want to make a change to your whole way of life and get to a point of financial freedom where it would be possible to ride out a UK economic collapse then follow what I did – it’s not easy but it works.

How to Stop Bleeding Quickly using Black Pepper

Simple, Easy and Inexpensive - Survival 1st Aid

Making sure you are carrying all the essentials for survival is not easy. In fact, it's pretty much impossible. So we do the best we can under given circumstances.

Ensuring there's enough food and water are a big concern, unfortunately there are many areas where you can fall short and by not having one bit of equipment, you can ruin your survival chances.

In a survival situation one of the worse thing that can happen is sustaining an injury. Everything else becomes irrelevant if you are not able to move about. Sourcing food and water would become almost impossible.

A bad fall or a laceration is something that requires immediate treatment - but a large open cut that is bleeding, is far more serious and requires treatment to halt that bleeding as soon as possible.

It's just not possible to pack everything in your 1st aid kit.

What you put in you 1st aid kit is personal to you and your needs. These will all differ slightly from another persons emergency kit.
But generally most things items in any kit remain constant - by that, I mean the bandaging, wraps, medication etc.  Blood clotting agents are generally an item that you must add yourself.

You can get smaller, more specific, trauma kits like the 'QuickClot Trauma Kit' shown here. But it will not include most of the emergency 1st aid equipment you have in your own kit.

These kits are very specific and designed mainly for stopping bleeding as fast as possible in an emergency.

Something like this is well worth considering if you have room in you survival pack.

It is also a very useful item to include in your car survival kit.

The individual clotting kits like the 'Celox or QuickClot' are designed to give very fast clotting and are in the form of a bandage type, sterile, nonwoven gauze that is impregnated with a clotting agent. The gauze can be use to treat any bleeding wound anywhere on the body.

They are a 'one off' treatment and will stop bleeding quickly - It's well worth packing at least one these in your kit. Even better is to ensure every member of your group has one.

So what about lesser open wounds that require attention?

    • Lesser injuries should be considered as potential show stoppers as much as a large open wound.
It is important to remember that, and as such, stopping any bleeding of an open wound in a survival situation must be given immediate attention.
    • Simply tripping over and cutting a finger or bashing into things can easily result in a cut or an abrasions to your skin.

These 'lesser' injuries can still prevent you from carrying on, but more importantly, if not treated they will get worse putting you in more danger.  A simple cut, if not treated, can easily get infected - it is essential to treat all wounds immediately.

      • For this type of 'lesser' blood injury you do not want to be wasting a full blood clot pack. It's just not needed. Save them for real 'life or death' situations, if they were to occur.
      • Instead there's a very simple bushcraft solution to the smaller blood injury.

Strange as it may seam - Ground Black Pepper will stop a smaller bleeding wound.

By carrying some black pepper seeds in a self grinder bottle, the type you can get from any supermarket, you have an instant dispenser to administer directly onto a small open wound. The pepper will not hurt the patient in any way and will not sting your skin.
Once the ground pepper is over the cut or abrasion, press it firmly into the open wound.
Wrap the wound as best you can, with whatever you have to hand - obviously the more sterile the better. This is where you standard emergency 1st aid equipment comes in to play.

This method is simple and straightforward and will definitely help in stopping the bleeding from a smaller open wound.

This is tried and tested bushcraft survival skill. To the best of my knowledge it is not a medically approved or endorsed method.
I have used it and all I can say is it worked for me.
Obviously for a bigger wound the blood clotting pads are your first choice - but we are talking survival and prioritising the use of essential equipment where possible.
Don't get caught out - get prepared first.

    Happy Prepping Folks.

Could You Find Supplies After SHTF

A prepper is far more ready for the SHTF than your average Joe Soap

If the time were ever to come and disaster was to strike, it would be chaos.  As soon as the SHTF, anything could, and probably would go very bad, very fast.
As a prepper you will have a huge advantage over your neighbour, by the simple fact that your far more prepared and ready to survive than the average citizen.
But there are concerns that over the long term, even the most seasoned and prepared of us all will eventually run out of essential supplies.

Although bushcraft and living of the land are an essential part of prepping, I still want my comforts.

It's hard to tell how long it would be before the supermarkets and DIY stores were picked clean for the essentials. But certainly within a couple of weeks is the general consensus of opinion.

Certainly food and water would go fast, within days, with the less obvious items taking a little longer. But if you already know these places will be cleared out, it makes sense to go hunting for extra provisions elsewhere.

Sniffing out the goodies in places where the 'sheeple' may not think of.  Depending on the type of disaster, you will be able to overlook certain items straight away, this gives you more chance to hone in on the essentials for your survival.

Where will you find these extra essential items for your stache?

The number 1 places to head for are NOT supermarkets, food stores or restaurants. They would of been looted and cleared out on day one or even before. With the slightest sniff of a shortage of food the hoards will descend on any food store.
It will be top of their list and will be 'dog eat dog' full on supermarket warfare..!

The first places to head for are ....

    • OFFICE BUILDINGS - this will be a great source of some additional supplies and equipment. Think about it, offices have water coolers and small kitchens. Some even have staff canteens.
    • SCHOOLS: another great source. A school will almost certainly have a kitchen that's stocked up with large amounts of canned foods and equipment, as well as first aid and even clothing. A secondary school or collage will have a lot of other resources as well - maybe a metal working or woodwork class offering some extra gear.
    • FACTORIES; manufacturing factories will have a lot of equipment, tools and supplies that will certainly add to your stores. Other essential equipment like batteries and first aid will also be found there as well.

    Other places worth considering

      • Amusement parks, zoos, cinemas - these will have food, water, first aid supplies, and maintenance tools.
      • Pawn shops - might be worth checking out especially for tools, weapons, and gold and silver.
      • Animal feed stores and pet shops - especially if you have pets. Animal foods can even provide enough nutrition for humans while your out looking for for more.
      • Fire stations -  if abandoned. There should be plenty of first aid supplies, good tools, and lots of water. Possibly tens of thousands of gallons of water. Even if not directly drinkable it's still a great source.
      • Marinas and boat yards -  A source of food and good emergency equipment.
      • Self-storage units - Although normally very secure, it's worth a try. These would be an excellent source for lots of survival gear.  Might be a bit pot luck though with hundreds of units to choose from.!
      • Abandoned houses - Although they would of been ransacked for food etc, it's worth a try for water. Most houses have at least one 50 gallon tank in the loft. Not drinkable but ok once filtered.
      • Abandoned vehicles - well worth a look and a good source of supplies like batteries and fuel.

Surviving is all about thinking on your feet and adapting to the situation. Prepping is all about being ready for that situation before it happens.
Don't get caught out - get prepared first.

    Happy Prepping Folks.

    Bushcraft and Survival Shows 2015

There's plenty to look forward to during 2015 - including this new event

I can't wait to get back to the bushcraft shows this year. If you have never been to a bushcraft show before, then you're in for a great time.
The whole atmosphere is buzzing with all sorts of characters demonstrating the age old skills and traditions

All the event encourage you to take part and learn these skills for yourself. There's also specialist courses going on during the show to really help hone your personal bushcraft skills.
With some of the most skilful practitioners of these age old skills on hand to talk to and ask questions you will learn so much about the crafts.

New for 2015 - The Great Wild Food & Chilli Fare

    wild food and chilli fare

I want to start with this show first, as this event is brand new for 2015 and looks to be something a bit special.

I have spoken to the organizers and they are really geared up to put on a fantastic event with some very interesting features.

Certainly something to look forward to .

The event will be taking place at Rooks Hall, in Maldon, Essex on the 27th and 28th June 2015 and will be the very first event of its kind in the East of England region.

The Great Wild Food & Chilli Fare is being held across three distinct arenas to offer you a different wild experience each time.

There's a host of great instructors and experts giving talks and demonstrating skills as diverse as flint knapping from the UK's leading authority, Will Lord. -  To the very 1st Official Essex Chilli Cook-Off UK - this is for a place in the UK and World finals.

Of course, there's going to be loads to see and do and, importantly, to eat.

This is an event to put in any preppers diary as these old skills are something we often overlook, especially the foraging and medicinal benefits of natural plants. It's also a chance to brush up on some of your bushcraft & survival skills., and learn new ones.

So, it looks like there's going to be plenty to see and do and eat at this show and I would think it's definitely going to be a hit amongst bushcraft enthusiast as well as us preppers,

Admission to the show is very reasonable indeed. With a day entrance ticket at £9, going up to a family ticket for 2 adults & 2 children + weekend camping for only £55

I will definitely be there, so if you see me, come over and say hello.

If you want to find out even more details about the show - here's a direct link to their website - and don't forget to mention, you heard about it from Steve at the UKpreppersGuide website..!

    Happy Prepping Folks.
