Just stumbled across your site looking into buying some self-defence spray, thank you for the information. I was looking into purchasing a pepper spray or something because I’m too old and fat to be fighting off people with criminal intent. I am very disappointed with the restrictions placed on British citizens, it’s a bloody disgrace. Too much government overreach since Blair. Back to the gym for me.

Ok we are having to buy these things because the police are over worked and are not on the streets anymore. But someone on this page said they arrested an old lady for using a spray of some sort and left her obviously very distressed. Was it the attacker who foned the police ???

Well so much for the police not having the resources but have the resources to come and arrest the old lady. It should be our human right to defend ourselves on the streets and in our homes.!!

To think it was anger towards some Asian dudes who attacked a white traffic warden that lead me to look at ways I in my hijab and veil could defend an innocent person regardless of their colour that lead me here, it’s shameful for you to be siding with an ignorant person who obviously has biased views towards Muslims and people of colour. FIY, women are more likely to get harassed by their white colleagues than by a Muslim. It’s not Muslims spiking women’s drinks, touching them
up on public transport, making up skirting videos and filming girls’ feet for their foot fetishes. About time you took a long hard look at what’s going on in your neck of the woods before judging a people you have no idea about.

Hi, Read your blog regarding this product as we are experiencing a lot of moped muggers in our area and the police are powerless. I was wondering what the effect would be if sprayed on to a motorcycle helmet visor, would it stick and/or smear? meaning their only chance of escape or escalating the attack would be to remove the helmet, thus making them identifiable. Also overspill onto the cycle will that stick the same.
Regarding Allan’s post regarding it’s use brought back a story my father told me some 30 years ago. He worked on the police comms desk in the 70s, he took a report of an old woman in her late 60s spraying a burglar in the eyes with ammonia when he entered her bedroom in the middle of the night. She was arrested and had to give a good reason why the ammonia spray was on her bedside table, her excuse of having been cleaning her bedroom that day was eventually accepted after experiencing much distress. The burglar got his wrists slapped and told not to do it again, leaving the old woman in fear of a revenge attack. Sad and unbalanced country we live in.

Just read about spray interesting stuff. but have to say the truth is we and I say we. as upstanding decent citizens should not need to carry anything.But the truth is we are now unprotected by the police in the uk now.and believe me I don’t blame the police I’m sure they want to do there jobs,but down to penny pinching fat cats that so call run the country have squeezed the life out of our 999 services .and us people that live in the real world do not feel safe on our own streets anymore. JUST LOOK UP THE REAL CRIME statistics the criminals are the prosperous not the decent tax payers that pay for so called public protection.I say again I don’t blame the police.The law stinks in how we can protect ourselves it’s unrealistic and confusing and in most cases ends up being on the aggressors side.I have To say in my opinion if this spray gel was effective enough the criminal element would use it after all anyone can buy it. But know they use a more affective and cruel method acid.And we decent uk citizens aren’t allowed anything but to rely on our undermanned police force.SHAME ON YOU you PENNEY PINCHING FAT CATS BET YOU HAVE A DIRECT LINE FOR YOURE PROTECTION. OUT OF OUR TAXES. SHAME On YOU.
