I couldn’t agree more! You might as well go to home base!!
]]>this is for SELF-DEFENCE. self defence is about doing what is necessary to escape from a situation. in a life threatening situation, your main objective is to get away from the attacker and save yourself, not be some action movie hero and beat him up before the police arrive.
be sensible liz
]]>Hi Albert,
It is not an offensive weapon if used in defence against an attacker..
You have a right to defend yourself using whatever means you like, providing it is proportional to the attack.
This spray does not cause harm or injury, it simply provides an identifying mark on the attacker.
Unlike paint, deodorant, perfume or similar, it sprays a concentrated gel dye upto 4 mtrs away, but will do less damage than any of them.
It is designed to give you those precious seconds to make an escape. Not to injure or main someone.
If I walked up to someone and battered them with a feather duster, then that’s an offensive weapon and assault..!
There has never been anyone taken to court over this, as it would never get that far.
Yes, you may get some over enthusiastic copper confiscate it from you, thinking he knows all the laws, but you’d get it back the next day as soon as the desk sargent looked at it.
of course it is a form of self defence to me self defence is anything that renders someone incapacitated even for a few seconds but enough for me to run run run….he (author) has already explained this product is Legal….unlike your umbrella what good that would be but blow away i don’t know….and as for nail scissors who carries them ? it would require very very close bodily contact with nail scissors (daft idea) and perfume…who carries perfume in their pocket? again the attacker would have to be very very close to you to get spayed because the spray would evaporate into the atmosphere…as a woman I think this website is very good and worth looking at for protection, especially in this day and age.
]]>Yes, of course.
Same way as you can carry perfume, nail scissors, umbrella, can of paint etc etc.
All these can be used as weapons if needed.
But none of them are self defence weapons as such.
The same applies to this criminal identifier spray. It is not a self defence weapon.
Take time to read the article again – the most important think to remember is to be alert and aware of whats going on around you,
It is perfectly OK to carry in public, and hopefully you’re not daft enough to go around telling people you’ve got a can of self defence spray on you!
Hope this helps.
