Why choose a paintball gun for survival defence. 

There are many makes, types and styles of paintball guns available for preppers to use as a defence weapon, with costs ranging from under £50 right up to over £1000 for competition and tournament enthusiasts. But for a prepper the main reason for having a paintball gun is purely self defence and to ward off, would be, looters and intruders. Remember folks, these are not toys, and can do more than enough harm to make someone think twice about trying to get past you. At close range [10 - 20 mtrs] getting a direct hit anywhere on your body will cause injury and hurt big time.

What are the important factors when choosing a paintball gun.  

• The number one most important factor when choosing a paintball gun is Reliability – buying cheap will mean inferior parts and a chance of the gun jamming up.
• Also paying top price for a top end gun can also cause problems as they will need constant tweaking and maintenance to keep their high standards of performance.
• Durability – again cheaper models will not be robust enough to cope, with cheap plastic bodies and inferior metal parts. 
• Always buy from a reputable and well known Manufacturer – someone who has been in the paintball business for many years

What is the best paintball gun for survival defence in the UK.

I have a Tippman A5 paintball gun and it meets all the requirements of any survival prepper needs. It is reasonably priced at around £170 for the basic gun with paintball hopper.

 There are loads of add-ons if you wish, but the basic model shown here is more than good enough for a preppers survival weapon.

In addition to the basic gun you will also need a 20oz CO2 bottle which screws onto the back of the gun. This will set you back around £20. I would sugest having two and make sure they are always fully charged.

One thing to be aware of is the paintballs themselves – don’t buy cheap – always buy boxed and sealed and keep them at a constant temperature, that way they will be perfect for use every time. I keep a box of 2000 unopened and sealed and also another box which is opened but the balls are divided into packs of 200 and resealed.

With the main criteria of this survival weapon is the Reliability being 100% – This gun has never let me down.

The complete mechanism is very strong and durable and just works well all the time. It will fire a .68 cal paintball at at rate of over 300 feet per second which can be ramped up to even more if you wish.

As a survival weapon, this paintball gun is a must for any UK prepper and when SHTF you will be glad you have it. A survival knife is fine for close protection but one of these gives you distance to fend anyone off. 

 

 

Having owned this paintball gun and used it, I know exactly what it can do and have seen it out perform many of the much dearer ones – for reliability and durability you wont go far wrong – as a survival weapon I think it is perfect for any UK Prepper.
