What is the best pocket knife to choose for survival.
Pocket knives come in many different types with many additional feature like this Swiss Army Knife shown here. But a Pocket Knife can also have just the one folding blade in its most basic form.
Most preppers go for a couple of good fixed blade survival knives and then add the pocket knife and also a pocket knife with the added tools.
The pocket knife with extra ‘add ons’ makes an excellent piece of prepper equipment due to its compact size and ability to offer a multi purpose utility tool.
The most essential thing to remember with knives, especially a pocket tool knife, is never buy cheap knives. They just wont stand up to the forces put on them.

A folding pocket knife is an ideal preppers knife as it’s compact, light and easy to carry around. All have a link to attach a cord to if required.
Multi purpose Tools that include a folding pocket knife can have many extra tools and are really compact and light weight. Adding one of these is, I think, a must for any survivalist and prepper. Again, the most important thing to remember here is Do Not Buy Cheap. These sort of tools can save your life.

Hi Roger,
Yes, the parang seems to of had a few problems – I believe the knife and sheath have both been recalled.
The knife recall was for the blade shattering !!!!
Definitely some quality control problems there.

Eh, I’m so-so about bear grylls knives. His parang machete had 2 recalls. I think the bear grylls brand is more marketing than quality.

Hi Bill,
That does look like an excellent knife – trouble is, here in the UK you could get arrested for carrying it…!!
The blade is over our legal length of 3″

Hi George,
The Remix is one of my favourites as well.
Also, having a skeleton handle you can bind 550 paracord to help the grip.
See 550 paracord projects, theres a good picture to show what I mean.
So you get two essential survival items for one..!
