Onesies For Men
OK, I know it’s not very macho, but, Onesies for men, are really quite good and these camo designs are pretty realistic as well.
I stumbled across these when looking for something to wear under my normal camo gear during the colder months when I’m out doing the odd overnighter in the woods.
And wow, they are perfect for the job!
Obviously most people would only think of buying onesies for adults to just wander about the house at bedtime, and yes, that’s what they are really designed for, but my new ‘covert’ use actually works a treat!
Who buys Onesies For Men anyway?
Obviously theres a huge choice of different sizes and designs, all catering for different preferences.
From plain old boring onesies, right up to some really smart and cleverly designed ones like these below.

For pure warmth you want to choose fleece – and to be honest, you could probably wear that in the Antarctica and still keep warm! So if its winter time hiking and camping then fleece is the one to go for.
Of course, when buying onesies for men you will also have to consider if it will be used in the home – in which case a fleece will cook you up like rabbit on a spit, so go for a 100% cotton material.
Just a quick word here about wearing one under your normal clothing – if you’re very active and tend to sweat a lot, a cotton onesie will not work all that well, as cotton does not ‘wick’ away moisture very well, but for normal sleeping, they are fine.
But cotton is no where near as warm as fleece.
So if it’s a cosy, warm nights sleep you want, always go for the fleece option like this camo, full body fleece onesie shown here on the right.
Whether you buy your onesie for home or outside use, you’ll find they work a treat.
What about styles and designs.
The animal designs can be quite funny and humorous, and they are.
But here’s a word of warning to wannabee kangaroos and monkeys – the tails are a real nuisance.
So are ears and pouches and and other sticky outy things – you’ll find you’re constantly adjusting your sleeping position to accommodate these things as they poke you in the back at night!
But, the plus side is, they do make great animal, monster or scary costumes for fancy dress.
Technical details to consider when buying onesies for men and adults
The Bum Flap.
Very specifically to the covert camo styled onesie I use for my overnight camp trips, you are best advised to always choose your onesie with a good bum flap opening.
If you’re going for a camo fleece one piece onesies, the last thing you want to be doing is undressing in the woods in the middle of the night, just to have a quick pee – a flap is essential.
I would also say this is a very useful for normal household night time use as well!
Do you need a Hoodie?
This is something I rate high on my onesie survival list. I found that a hood was really good for keeping warm during the cold night when out camping.
In fact losing heat through your head will cause you to have a bad nights sleep and a hood eliminates this problem.
There are plenty of onesies for men that include a hood of some sort.
Price
There is quite a big price difference between the different sizes and designs of the average onesie.
Childrens onesies can start from as low as £8 and go up to £30 depending on the design more than anything.
Adult onesies have a huge price difference, with a plain, bog standard onesie starting at around £10 and going way up to a massive £120.
But, on average, for a decent 6′ men’s camo fleece onesie you’ll be paying around £25 and for a novelty design, something like a star wars trooper, expect to pay around £35

These onesies for adults, in the camouflage designs, are ideal kit for preppers. The camo design pattern is very good on them all and definitely something worth considering when packing your rucksack.
