Could a Zombie Invaison actually happen?
If you haven't done already, take a look at part 1 of this Zombie series for the low-down on 'could it really happen'.
If humans were being regenerated into mindless Zombies, the actual infection method could only be by an infected person (the Zombie), biting a non infected person, simple as that.
Zombie Invasion Survival Tactics
Location
Possibly your number 1 survival tactic against ANY disaster is to put as much distance between yourself and the actual danger.
The same theory applies here as well.
G.O.O.D. (Get Out Of Dodge) as quickly as possible, if not before the event. Head for the areas of least people and hunker down there.
Highly populated areas are your worst nightmare - so stay away from cities and any built up area.
As soon as you can confirm the situation, you must stop and leave everything. If you are on your way to a city, turn back.
Just take a look at the UK population map on the right and you will soon see that areas like London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham are definite no go areas..
As the old saying goes - 'Head for them there hills' and don't look back.
Zombie Invasion Survival Equipment
Rule Number 1 -
The only guaranteed way to kill a Zombie is to remove the head from the neck.
Rule Number 2 -
There is no rule number 2..!
Bashing and slashing will temporarily stop and slow an attacking Zombie down, but nothing beats rule 1 for complete elimination.
- On no account try to punch and fight off an attacking Zombie - you will loose, as just the slightest bite and their virus infected saliver will enter your body and your now infected.

If you can't run away, then keep your distance, move fast and aim for the head. Smash it in enough and you going to do severe damage, enough for you to escape.
The more distance you can put between you and the attacker, the better.
So if you can get your hands on a shotgun, your quids in.
All other weapons are generally hand weapons and will need a bit of practice to get it right.

The US govt (CONOP888) and other nations have detailed plans for the Zombie Apocalypse but what is this Zombie Apocalypse that Govt and Preppers are getting ready for?
You will be revealed to note, if you found yourself here, that it is a fictional scenario. The Govt and Prepper community have used Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness as the ultimate training and preparation paradigm. That is the nature of a Zombie Apocalypse covers all possible scenarios in one exercise. ie viral outbreak, complete infrastructure breakdown, economic collapse, invasion, breakdown of law and order, riots, terrorist attack, bio/nuclear weapons, nuclear meltdown, fire, etc. Essentially if you are ready for the Zombie Apocalypse then you are ready for anything.
It occurs to me that as Preppers maybe we should consider doing Zombie Apocalypse exercises to test our readyness….If nothing else I am sure it would draw more attention to the need to prep and make it fun…
