Will There Be A UK Coronavirus Lockdown

It is decision time for the UK  government, time to grow some balls and face the facts.
The Coronavirus COVID-19 has now been officially upgraded by The World Health Organisation (WHO) as a Pandemic.

These scientist, statisticians and health experts don't take these sort of things lightly, they have had plenty of time to get to grips and assess whats really been happening, using actual facts and figures from world wide results.

Here in the UK it is time for our government to ditch the 'stiff upper lip' attitude and the 'wer'e British and we won the war you know', mindset..!

It doesn't work against a never before seen virus.

Lets get things straight, at the time of writing this article, there is no vaccine for the Coronavirus COVID-19

Meanwhile there are other countries systematically closing their borders, shutting down their schools, restricting all but necessary movement and quarantining their entire population.

Italy, Denmark, Lebanon, all on a total lockdown in an attempt to stop the virus spreading amongst its people.

We are two weeks behind Italy and our government are still telling us all you need to do is wash your hands...!

When is someone going to wake up to this situation?
The Minister For Health is even quarantined because she has been tested positive, for crying out load...!!

Even when we do see a Coronavirus vaccine produced it could be weeks before it becomes available.

So working on us being two weeks behind Italy and with a very high probability of the same viral spread happening here, will we land up with a total lockdown?

It would appear that a lockdown scenario is very much on the cards here in the UK.

Once the government pull their heads out of their backsides and take a look at whats happening outside good old blighty, perhaps then, and only then, will they see the real picture of what could, or more correctly, will happen here.

It is only a matter of time, look at the evidence. Look and see what's happening elsewhere.

At the moment some 22 countries have shut down their schools and have blanket restrictions on public meetings to curb the spread.
They are actually pulling their fingers out and doing something pro-active to help reduce the viral spread and as result, to help reduce the final death toll.

Will A Lockdown Happen Here In The UK?

To be honest your guess is as good as mine. Which appears to be the governments approach, guessing....!

With every man and his dog now being classified as an expert, the amount of different lockdown suggestions is getting more and more.

Some of the different reasons given by the experts make perfect sense and I agree with them. But there's so many differing views.

Closing schools, what happens then?
You'd get the grandparents, who are most at risk, having to look after grandchildren simply because the single parent would be thrown out of a home if they can't work.
But then again, we are told, children are the best transmitters of the virus...

A total lockdown will cause economic and social meltdown, with businesses going under by the 1000's. It will take months, if not years, to recover from a total lockdown.

My opinion, for what it's worth is simply this:

As preppers and realists, you prep for the unexpected AND the expected.
You do not just sit back and watch presuming the government to be intelligent, all seeing, all knowing and that only they know best.

Do that at your own risk..!!!

I am as ready as I can be, are you?

hi steve , my wife is upset with me even tho she knows im probably right , as i have told here we should be on total lock down . we are prepped and are in good standing with the exception of our health as she suffers from asthma and i have an autoimmune disease . i can see what may come from all this cov19 and future aint looking bright , any advise would be most welcome . All the best Phil .

    1. Hi Phil,
Yes, I think preparing for a few months of uncertainty is going to be the order of the day with the government pussy footing around…
Glad to here you prepped and have taken action. Mediation is one problem as the pharmacies wont give more then one moths supply..!
I think hunkering down for a while is favourite. We’ve still got water and power, the TV and internet is still good so you can get information as well.
All in all it will be very interesting to see what pans out, but I’m pretty sure we will be forced to go into locking down quite soon.
      All the best,

good luck philip, my husband has only just stopped alternating between laughing at me or telling me to stop buying things to actually listening to what i am saying, we both have asthma and i am 65 so puts me in the at risk category for health and age, i work in a big office with lots of unhygienic people (really worries me but i can not afford to stop working and do not get paid when off sick) my husband is a delivery driver so he goes to lots of houses and also handles money……scary times ahead but at least we are all prepared

Yes the virus is worrying but it’s inevitable we are going to go the same way as Italy etc. More worrying is the economic fall out. When pubs and restaurants close do to lock downs it’s going to take ages to recover. The government isn’t going to be able to bail small businesses out. As in Italy prisons are going to riot. Basically its doom and gloom but be prepared.
